The DANTE WYNTER Frequently Asked Questions page!

To be honest, no one has asked me any questions, but Frequently Unasked Questions has a bad acronym. On to the questions. . .

1.) Who the heck is Dante Wynter?
Well, that's me. Or, more exactly, my nom de plume. I was born David Fischer, jr. on 30 November 1964, in the city of Walnut Creek, California, which is in the San Francisco bay area. I lived in the Bay Area for nearly 35 years. Two years ago, I was driven out of the Bay Area (alright, I really lost my job!), and had to move to Reno, Nevada, where I now work as a Security Guard at Fitzgerald's. (That should make my boss happy) I married the former Carol Grover, AKA Lily Winter (you'll see her stories and art work here sooner or later) on 25 August 1990, and we have no kids, just three cats right now - Zombie, Cassanova, and Thrawn.

2.) How long have you been writing?
I've been writing stories since I was in the second grade, almost thirty years ago. Oddly enough, it's only been recently that I've started writing seriously. I hope to someday get some novels published. Someday.

3.) Since the second grade? Shouldn't you be better by now?
Watch it! You don't know what my earlier stuff is like! Seriously, I know I'm not perfect - especially in the grammar department, and spelling less so, I like to think. Anything you see that really sticks out, please let me know - I want to get better, after all.

4.) OK, so, are you a big fan of Dr. Who?
I've been a fan of Dr. Who since 1979, when my then-step-mother told me I might like this show. I defied her at first, then about a year later when I "discovered" the show, I enjoyed it more. Since then, I've collected all of the 4th and 5th Doctor stories - they're tied at my favorite, I'd say - and have seen most of the shows available.

5.) That's very nice, but I have no idea who Dr. Who is.
Well, hopefully, you won't have to. I like to think they're good stories by themselves, and as they're told fromt he point of view of some one who doesn't know the Doctor either, so you'll be starting off on equal footing. If you're a long-time (or short-time) fan of the good Doctor, I hope you'll like them also.

6.) What's this "comic book"? Is there art work involved?
Unfortuneately, no art work, just story. It's loosely based on Marvel and DC comics, with names borrowed from all over the place. It invovles a young lady, Lori, who finds out her deceased father was a vigilante named FoolKiller, and the adventures she has.

7.) Is Modular Destiny also a comic book?
Not really, although I suppose it could be thought of that way. It's an on-going sci-fi adventure, exploring the adventures of a man who has lost his memory, and his struggle to find out who he is.

8.) Do your Star Wars stories have Luke, or are they from earlier days?
Earlier days. Eeth takes place about twelve years before The Phantom Menace. I do plan on more stories within the Star Wars universe, including at least one in during the first trilogy. And Lily Winter will be putting up a Star Wars story, also set just before Empire Strikes Back. And, I would like to state here, again, that I am not making money off this thing, so, PLEASE, MR. LUCAS! DON'T SEND YOUR LAWYERS TO ME!!!

9.) Uh-huh. Are you really worried about George Lucas sending his lawyers after you?
Well, I have heard stories. . .

10.) Are you going to do anything else?
Yes, I plan on some fantasy stories, and maybe some comedy, if it's good enough.

11.) What are your influences?
Usually nothing more than caffiene.

12.) No, I mean, what authors do you like?
Oh. Boy, that's a long list. Just off hand, I'd say Robert Hienlien, Greg Bear, Isaac Asimov, Stephen King, and Dean R. Koontz

13.) Could I IM with you?
Sure. If you're really that interested in chatting with me, I'm on MSN and AIM, both under DanteWynter.

14.) Are there any more questions?
Not yet. Send some in, if you want.
